Pre-registration Available for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery

The new official mobile game, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is available for pre-registration! If the name hasn’t given it away, this mobile game is based on the massively popular Harry Potter books and movies.

For those of you who remember the old Pottermore website, this game brings back certain aspects of it but with a little more interaction. For instance, you can learn to cast different spells and make a variety of potions. While it is primarily an adventure role-playing game, there is a little bit of turn-based tactics during the Wizard Duels. Yes, you can have Wizard Duels now.

In this game, you play as a new student on Hogwarts. You get to choose which house you want to be sorted in and from there you build friendships with NPCs, learn spells and go on adventures. At the moment, the graphics don’t look like much but the idea of being able to go on these adventures is what reels me in the most. There seems to be a story-line behind this game as well. Although we still can’t tell what it’s about from the scraps of gameplay footage given to us. But since it’s an official game released by the Pottermore team, I have high expectations for the story.

The second trailer release so far has given us the most details regarding the gameplay. However, the game is not yet available for download. No date has been specified for the release but it is said to be sometime later this year.

What you can do while waiting for the release is to pre-register for the game on Google Play. This means it’s only available for Android users (Sorry Apple users!). Pre-registration will allow you to know when the game becomes available for download!
