Earlier this week Capcom shared some details regarding the fight with Behemoth in Monster Hunter World. Warrior of Lights everywhere eagerly awaited information about Rathalos’ visit. Yesterday during the Letter from Producer Part XLV live stream, Yoshida finally gave us some Monster Hunter World x FFXIV crossover event details. The event will launch on the same day as Patch 4.36 on August 7.
The Great Hunt
The Great Hunt is the name of the new trial where players will fight the King of the Skies, Rathalos.
This is going to freak some people out but RATHOLOS WILL IGNORE THREAT. So everyone gets a chance at tanking. This has gone to the pits.
There will be a Normal mode and Extreme mode. There are slight differences between the two, aside from the difficulty level. There will be no role limitations for both. In order to access the crossover, you will need to have completed the Main Story Quest for Stormblood.
- 8 Player
- iLvl requirement – 320
- 4 players
- iLvl requirement – 350
- Auto-raise upon death but you can only faint up to 3 times as a party
- Failing to kill him up to 3 times will result in duty failure.
In order to get the equipment, for the lore’s sake, you’ll bring the drops to an NPC that will forge the weapons for you. Hunting Rathalos will reward players with his armor, housing item, minions and the Lord himself as a mount! There are two versions of the armor, a dyeable version and a non-dyeable. Yoshida says “maybe next time” to those Kirin Gear requests. Next, Rathalos’ mount will also play a unique MonHun soundtrack, exclusive to him only. Players can participate for the event via Duty Finder.
THIS EVENT IS PERMANENT. So there is no time limit, feel free to farm our little hearts out. As for Yoshida pointing saying “Maybe next time” to Kirin, could we be looking forward to more collaboration? We’re definitely down for that, please look forward to it.
