Seminole Hard Rock Casino Hollywood Hits $1B in Jackpots for Fourth Year Running

Seminole Hard Rock Casino Hollywood hitting $1 billion in jackpots

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, renowned for its iconic Guitar Hotel, continues to bolster its reputation as Florida’s hotspot for generous slot payouts. Located between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, this rock ‘n’ roll-themed resort, owned by Hard Rock International under the Seminole Tribe of Florida, has achieved a remarkable milestone for the fourth consecutive year.

Record-Breaking Jackpots

This week, the casino announced that it has awarded over $1 billion in jackpots in 2024, a milestone reached on June 12. The lucky winner, a Hard Rock Unity X-Card loyalty member from Ohio, snagged nearly $6,000 playing Buffalo Link.

“For the fourth consecutive year, we have awarded more than $1 billion in jackpots,” said Bo Guidry, president of Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood. “We are dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences and ensuring that each visit to Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood is truly unforgettable.”

Since 2021, the Hollywood property has paid out more than $6 billion in slot machine jackpots.

Jackpots Every 47 Seconds

According to a press release, the majority of these jackpots have been relatively small. To reach the $1 billion mark this year, a staggering 346,492 jackpots were won, averaging $3,340.99 each. The largest single jackpot so far in 2024 was $1.4 million, hit in April.

The casino defines a jackpot as any win that requires a slot attendant to pay out the prize and issue a W-2G IRS tax form. Despite recent calls for the US Treasury to increase the slot prize trigger, the IRS tax threshold remains at $1,200.

On average, a jackpot is won every 47 seconds on the Hollywood casino floor. The 150,000-square-foot casino offers 2,500 slots, nearly 200 live dealer table games, and a Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook. The casino’s newest offerings include 10 craps and 20 roulette tables, thanks to the tribe’s revised gaming compact with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in 2021.

Expansion into Las Vegas

Hard Rock International is extending its brand presence by constructing a second Guitar Hotel in Las Vegas. The Mirage on the Las Vegas Strip, recently closed by Hard Rock for renovations, will be transformed into a rock ‘n’ roll-themed resort similar to the Hollywood property.

This transformation includes replacing the Mirage’s iconic volcano with a similarly-sized Guitar Hotel. Approximately 3,000 Mirage employees were laid off, but Hard Rock is providing around $80 million in severance.

The new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Guitar Hotel Las Vegas is scheduled to open in spring 2027.

The Future of Hard Rock Hollywood

The continuous achievement of paying out over $1 billion in jackpots annually underscores Hard Rock Hollywood’s commitment to offering exceptional gaming experiences. As the casino continues to attract gamblers with its generous payouts and extensive amenities, it solidifies its position as a leading gaming destination in Florida.

With its ongoing expansion and the introduction of new properties, Hard Rock International is poised to further enhance its brand and provide unparalleled gaming and hospitality experiences to its guests.
