Although the Kentucky Derby happens far from Pennsylvania, Mohegan Pennsylvania casino brought the same electrifying excitement and sophisticated fashion of Louisville to Luzerne County for their special “Party on the Patio” Kentucky Derby celebration.

Hundreds of guests donned their best derby-themed outfits, complete with colorful hats and chic ensembles, for the event hosted by the casino in Plains Township. The casino became a vibrant hub of activity as guests placed their bets, swayed to live music, and participated in a hat contest that showcased creative and extravagant designs. The lively ambiance set the stage for a day filled with joy and community spirit.

“Experiencing this for the first time is so much fun. Just seeing everything and taking part in it all,” said Zina Cashner from Bloomsburg, who attended for the first time. Her husband Bill added, “I’ve wanted to come for years. I used to live in Florida and went to the dog track a few times. I’ve always wanted to see the horses.”

Mohegan Pennsylvania, renowned for its gaming and entertainment offerings, enhanced the day’s experience with a well-curated selection of food and beverages for guests. The Kentucky Derby celebration was an opportunity for patrons to explore the newly updated gaming floor, boasting a range of table games and modern slots, making the betting experience just as thrilling as the race itself.

The “Party on the Patio” series has long been a community staple, combining the excitement of gaming with themed events that draw crowds from Wilkes-Barre and surrounding areas. Mohegan Pennsylvania offers something for everyone, from world-class dining and concerts to nightlife and sports wagering. The casino is known for blending entertainment with camaraderie in a way that keeps guests coming back for more.

After the final race, many guests stayed to mingle and enjoy the casino’s vibrant atmosphere. Mohegan Pennsylvania transformed a day at the races into a fully immersive experience, making it a memorable Derby Day even without a track in sight.
