Finally, fresh new content for the 2016 runaway farming game, Stardew Valley, have been revealed! ConcernedApe, also known as Eric Barone, has been working on new updates for Stardew Valley. The recent multiplayer beta was delayed to 2018 but the developer has made up for it with this new tweet revealing Stardew Valley 2018 plans.
Basically, he has compiled a list of things that will be coming our way in the new content update. These things include:
1. A new ‘town event’ in winter
So something like the Egg Festival or the Flower Dance, but with new cutscenes and dialogue! I can’t be the only one who talks to all the NPCs at an event.
2. A new type of collection that you can start in your first winter
This a great addition. Pretty sure any religious player would have run out of things to collect by now.
3. Signs you can display items on
This is more useful for the multiplayer mode. Though, it’s unclear how this will work in singleplayer if it’s to display items for sale. We’ll have to wait and see.
4. More outdoor decorations and some can change with the season
Landscaping is 60% of the fun in this game and this changes everything. Time to start a new save file!
5. More NPC ‘events’
More cutscenes and drama! This will definitely give us more insight into the residents of Stardew Valley.
6. A way to re-spec professions
I’m guessing this means you can change your specialty stats in your profile. This is going to be useful for optimizing profit in the game, especially with the changing seasons.
As of yet, Barone has not given us a release date for the new update but we do know that the update will be coming to PC sooner than the consoles. Although, I would expect this update to arrive alongside the underwater update that Chucklefish has been teasing.
