The maniacal, hectic, frenzy-shooter franchise Serious Sam has been confirmed for a fourth mainline entry via a teaser trailer. Croteam and Devolver Digital released the teaser on DD’s official YouTube channel earlier today. Go ahead and check out the trailer above.
Let’s Get Seriously Serious
The teaser was very scarce with information. For a good portion of its 55 seconds, it shows the protagonist riding his chopper down the road, with luscious green grass and nature as scenery. The most iconic part of the trailer would have to be Sam shooting down a Beheaded Kamikaze. That was one hell of a throwback Then we proceed to see Sam riding towards more Beheaded Kamikazes and other enemies!
The last mainline entry was Serious Sam 3: BFE, which has a Very Positive score on Steam. It was popular among players for its over-the-top combat and gruesome action. Players would face overwhelmingly large hordes of enemies in gorgeous open environments. Not only did it have a fun and intriguing single-player campaign, you could also play up to four-player split-screen co-op. There is also a multiplayer mode where up to 16 players could play together. Fans loved it and have been hoping for another Serious Sam game on modern consoles. A pixel top-down shooter game, Serious Sam’s Bogus Detour, was released last year. Later that same year, a VR game, Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope was also released. Both games opened to positive reviews.
For now, details on the seven-year-due sequel are scarce. But, you can definitely expect to hear more in the upcoming E3 2018. Mark your calendars for June 2018!
