Now here’s one announcement you don’t have to hold your breath for during Gamescom 2018, happening tomorrow on August 21. From Software’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice release date was revealed by Activision earlier today. The game will hit stores on March 22, 2019.

What’s in the Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Collector’s Edition?

The standard version is already available for pre-order as soon as the release date went live. As for the Collector’s Edition, it seems like you need to get a redeemable code to even get a chance at pre-ordering. There’s currently no price tag yet but we’re guessing it’s going to cost the typical amount a CE does. That amount typically ranges from $159 ~ $200.

Here’s what you can get if you get the Collector’s Edition:

  • Physical copy of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
  • Limited Edition steelbook case
  • 7″ Shinobi Statue
  • Physical map of the game
  • Three Sengoku Era game coins
  • Official digital soundtrack
  • Collectible art book

What is Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice?

Teased way back in 2017, Sekiro has initially been dubbed the sequel to Bloodborne by fans. Coming from the same company that gave us Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Dark Souls 3, it was no surprise that fans thought Sekiro is a follow up to From Software’s Bloodborne. They are, in a way, not too far off. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is also an action-adventure RPG game that borrows several, if not most, of its mechanics from other From Software’s game.

Besides sharing mechanics, all these games have another thing in common – they are all directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. Despite featuring similarities from its predecessor of the same genre, the new game will also have its own feature. For example, players can literally die twice. With the addition of Grappling Hook, Prosthetic Tools plus special sword arts, fans will experience a new way to play the game and fight mythical creatures.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice release date is set for March 22 next year in 2019. It will be available for Windows PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Check out the trailer above!
