The three-day event that began on August 3 until August 6, ChinaJoy 2018 is China’s most influential event in the global digital entertainment industry. One of the many announcements that came to light during the event was Ragnarok Online: Love at First Sight. Any MMO veterans would be pleased to know that this game will soon be released on mobile. The game itself will be a collaboration between Tencent Games, Dream², and Huanle Entertainment. Dream² also worked on a previous Ragnarok title known as RO: Guardians of Eternal Love.
Ragnarok Online: Love at First Sight
Currently, the game is set to release by the end of this year, 2018. In terms of feature, the game’s graphic looks just like it used to. Everything feels quite familiar graphic-wise. However, there is a new feature that makes this game stands out. Unlike its predecessor, Ragnarok Online: Love at First Sight will incorporate a full 3D view. The controls are also changing to fit the platform as a mobile game. You can check out the announcement trailer above. It’s in Chinese but doesn’t worry we’ve got you covered. Let’s take a look at some of the features the game will have.
In terms of features new to Ragnarok, this game will have a “Day and Night” system. Besides that, there’ll also be everchanging weather to help players feel more immersed with the game. Plus they’re also adding climbing – which, has never been a thing in any Ragnarok Online game previously. Finally, there’s a 20-player PvP mode that some people are dubbing as the “Battle Royale” mode but we think that’s a bit of a stretch.
Other than that, the more common MMO features are the familiar job advancement system, costumes, and mounts. Towns will also be present in this game and players can hang out in Prontera just like the old days. For now, there’s no news regarding an English version of the game. The Korean and Chinese release though will happen by the end of this year.
More MMOs from the good ol’ days are making a comeback on mobile, for example, MapleStory M. Will this be the trend now to bring back old games to mobile? If so, let us know in the comments what games you wish to see restored to its former glory on mobile!
