In the yesterday’s Pokémon Direct, Nintendo announced the series’ next games for the 3DS. Unlike Pokémon Stars, which was speculated to be the enhanced version of Pokémon Sun and Moon, the new releases will be an expansion to last year’s release, similar to Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 is an expansion to Pokémon Black and White. Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will be available for purchase worldwide on November 17.
The new games to the series will be heavily based on last year’s release, Sun and Moon. Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will have a slight time skip, where the world expands and story continues, returning players to the Alola region. The new releases will also feature new Pokémon not included in last year’s releases, such as new forms of legendaries and other rare Pokémon.
