Ubisoft has confirmed that the next Assassin’s Creed game will be known as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The leak initially came from a keychain, yes, a keychain. A Kotaku tipster took a picture of a what looks to be a keychain of a Corinthian helmet. It’s something a Hoplite would wear back in Ancient Greek. The keychain is said to be arriving at gaming stores across the world today. Then, a few hours after the leak went out, Ubisoft took to Twitter to confirm it, it’s no doubt the next game is set in Greece. Especially with the short clip they included that looks a lot like Leonidas’ (300) ‘THIS IS SPARTA’ iconic kick.

When is Assassin’s Creed Odyssey coming out?
According to financial sources, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is aiming for a release in Ubisoft’s 2019 fiscal year. Seems like we’ll be getting this new game even sooner simply because the said fiscal year ends on March 2019. However, there’s also a chance that they will skip this schedule altogether just to space out Odyssey and Origin.
So what can we expect to get in Odyssey? If you enjoyed the RPG element of Origin then you’ll be glad to know that they are taking that and building upon it for Odyssey. Despite the fact that it’s going to be a sequel to Origin, main characters Bayek or Aya will probably not be in Odyssey. There’ll be new heroes and apparently, for the first time ever in the series, dialogue options! Nevertheless, you still have the chance to choose between a male or female protagonist.

We can definitely expect to hear more about this during Ubisoft during their E3 conference in a week’s time! Hopefully, Ubisoft would share with us more regarding the setting of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Most importantly, we hope a release window of some sort will be included too.
