Recently, Blizzard released a blog update titled “Subscribe to WoW and play every expansion through Legion!” and they literally mean just that. All the world of Warcraft expansions The company has removed the expansion packs from their storefront. This means that you will no longer have to pay for all the expansion packs in order to get the full experience. Whether that may be because of a dwindling player base or just a change in pace, who knows? But I’m willing to bet it’s the former.
A New Era For World of Warcraft
If you’re wondering what this means for current subscribers, all the expansions pack up will have been unlocked for them. This includes Legion, the most recent of the expansion packs, which is coming on an end to make way for the upcoming expansion, Battle for Azeroth.
Now, that, you have to buy. So the deal is, if you pay $12.99 a month, you’ll have access to all the expansion packs up to Legion. However, in order to play Battle for Azeroth, you have to pay the full price of $49.99. So I guess Blizzard is starting over.
Battle for Azeroth will be released on August 18 but the pre-purchase is available now in the blizzard store for $79.99. The packs include 30 day game time and one level 110 character boost.
There is a deluxe edition that is $109.99. That includes the 30 day game time, 110 character boost plus.
